blessing in disguise
i feel very fortunate to have the ability to let go! let go of material things….old shirts, beat up boots whatever…..you can always buy a new pair or go to a thriftshop and buy sumthn cute :)…….i guess the same goes with people that enter your life. it may not be a bad thing that they leave ur life! you share a moment in your lilfe and at the moment feels like your going to be best friends forever! BFFS right? ya im sure lol…so i HAD this bestie that we lasted (or at least i thought) till after high school and we partied, shopped and did everything together. all the time thinking things were good. actually they were good. some ppl are just there to be there and what happens in relationships(all kinds)…..is that one puts in more effort than the other! instead of feeling drained and saddened at the fact that ur bestie isnt as into u as uu thought besties should (which i was for years) i just realized that its actually their loss! if ppl leave ur life unintentionally then let it be. dont hold on to something because of time and comfortability high school was a phase, early college was a new begining, and after that is more education….the education of finding urself and learning about life!!! feel good to let it go! you will cross paths with many more ppl that will love you for you and want to be in ur life…..
To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.
